The purchasing decision

A useful waterproof bag RFQ gives suppliers the same purchasing question. Identify the model or drawing, intended contents, target load and required construction. Separate must-have details from ideas that can be proposed by the factory. This reduces the risk of receiving prices for products that only look similar.

List quantities by SKU and attach artwork with a defined print size. State what the retail unit includes, how the shipment is packed and the destination market. If a target performance matters, give the conditions to be evaluated rather than an unqualified adjective such as fully waterproof or long-lasting cooling.

Ask suppliers to record assumptions and exclusions in their response. Sample cost, development work, packing, timing and commercial terms should be visible alongside the unit price. Use the downloadable worksheet on this page as a starting point, then refine it for the selected model. A complete RFQ supports comparison; it does not replace sample approval.

Include these details in your enquiry

  • Model or drawing with revision
  • Materials, dimensions and evaluation needs
  • SKU quantities, artwork and accessories
  • Retail packing, shipment and commercial basis

Identify the model and the version of any drawing or artwork. Ask for assumptions, proposed changes, packing details and commercial terms to be shown in the quotation. MOQ, sample cost and production timing are confirmed for the agreed configuration.

Buyer questions

What if I do not know the final material yet?

State the intended use and ask for identified alternatives. Keep each proposed construction separate in the response.

Should target price be included?

It can help guide a proposal, but the supplier should still identify the construction and any assumptions used to reach it.
