The purchasing decision

A TPU cooler description can refer to the outer fabric, a lining material or another part of the build. Ask the supplier to identify each layer independently. A drawing or cutaway can show where the shell ends, where insulation sits and how the liner joins around the opening. This is more useful than a single material name in a product title.

Review the proposed thickness, finish and reinforcement with the selected closure and carry system. The material at a handle anchor may need different detailing from the broad body panel. Likewise, the liner needs to be evaluated in the finished shape rather than as an isolated flat swatch.

If the product will carry packaged food or drinks, state the intended contact conditions and destination-market documentation needed for the chosen material. Do not infer food-contact suitability from a colour or generic TPU label. Keep the final layer specification and supporting documents connected to the approved sample and order.

Include these details in your enquiry

  • Layer-by-layer material description
  • Insulation thickness and construction
  • Liner join and zipper interface drawing
  • Intended contact conditions and documentation

Identify the model and the version of any drawing or artwork. Ask for assumptions, proposed changes, packing details and commercial terms to be shown in the quotation. MOQ, sample cost and production timing are confirmed for the agreed configuration.

Buyer questions

Are shell and liner always the same material?

No. Specify each part independently and review the complete construction on the sample.

Does a TPU label establish food-contact compliance?

Request documentation relevant to the selected material, intended use and destination market rather than relying on the material name.
