The purchasing decision
A soft cooler zipper has to work with the body shape and the way the user packs it. Check the opening route, corner geometry and the space available to operate the pull. A wide access opening may be convenient, but it should still be reviewed with the proposed insulation and liner thickness.
Use a defined closing sequence on a loaded sample. Inspect the zipper ends, alignment and nearby seams, and note whether the packing load puts pressure on the closure. Follow any care or operating instructions supplied for the selected zipper rather than assuming that every component needs the same treatment.
If leak resistance or air retention is part of the brief, define the evaluation conditions and acceptance criteria separately. The word airtight should not replace a test plan. Keep the zipper model and any approved component changes in the production record so a visually similar substitute is not accepted without review.
