The purchasing decision
A backpack cooler combines an insulated compartment with a harness, so the buying brief needs to cover both. Identify the packed contents, expected carried weight and distance between transport and use. A shoulder-carry cooler and a backpack may have similar nominal capacity but create different comfort and access requirements.
Check shoulder strap adjustment, sternum strap position and any waist support on a loaded sample. Review the way the body sits against the back and whether the top handle is accessible. Exterior mesh and bungee storage should have a defined accessory role rather than being counted as protected storage.
In a wholesale range, use clear photographs of the harness and opening, not just the front panel. Confirm whether dimensions describe the bag or the shipment pack. Discuss the liner, insulation and main closure using the same criteria applied to other cooler formats, then keep harness details in the approved specification.
